Amazon Cyber Monday Deals 2014 Reviewed

The Amazon Cyber Monday 2014 sale is offering again this year an enormous number of deals. The key to the Amazon Cyber Monday deals is timing, making the Amazon Cyber Monday more difficult to shop than other Cyber Monday sales.

The Amazon Cyber Monday sale is an 8-day long sales event online at amazon.com. Amazon announced that new deals added as often as every ten minutes. There will be thousands of deals to choose from. There is no way for shoppers to know when these deals are available. It is poor luck to spot these coveted appear in the lightning deals widget.

On Black Friday these coveted deals included the $79 $32-inch TV, $115 40-inch TV and $199 50-inch Toshiba TV deals. The Amazon Cyber Monday deals that will be make surprise appearances somewhen on Sunday or Monday include the $999 49-inch LG 4K Ultra HD TV, $298 Sony 40-inch LED TV and $298 40-inch Samsung LED TV deals. What to Buy in Amazon Cyber Monday Sale

The Amazon Cyber Monday sale is providing opportunities to save considerable on TV purchases through deep discounts and additional offers that include gift card bundles, cash back rewards and even free TVs.

Video games and video game hardware is another category where you can save substantial on Cyber Monday on Amazon. Amazon is one of the few retailers that is offering the Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle for $329.99 like on Black Friday. Many other retailers raised the price again to $349.99. Amazon will top the Xbox One Black Friday deal with a special Xbox One Cyber Monday deal.

The $329.99 Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle will be available with a free $12 month of Xbox Live.

Another very big product category to save big in the Amazon Cyber Monday are books and movies. Best selling books are discounted by 50% and there is an additional promotion that takes off an extra 30% of any book.

The Amazon Shopping App is an essential tool for shopping on the Amazon Cyber Monday not only on the go. The transactions on the mobile app can be done quicker than in the desktop interface and Amazon will for the first time offer exclusive lightning deals for mobile app users during Cyber Monday. Make sure you have the Amazon Shopping app ready. You can download the app on iTunes for iPhones and on Google Play for Android devices.

How to Find Cyber Deals on Amazon

The Amazon Cyber Monday deals are spread out across the whole site. The Cyber Monday Deals page is the starting point for finding Cyber Monday deals on Amazon, but the page is not comprehensive to cover all offered deals. You also should visit the Today’s Deals page, which gives another look at the current Cyber Monday deals.

As mentioned above the Amazon app is a great tool to get a quick overview of current and upcoming Cyber Monday lightning deals. The other ways to find all deals is to visit the category homepages. This where Amazon links to most offers and sales promotions for items in that category. See for instance the TV Category homepage. 

The Amazon Deals Calendar for movies, video games, software and music have lost some of their usefulness this year. In past year’s these calendars have been extremely helpful to find out about upcoming deals. This year the listings are not complete and you can find the same information on the category homepages.

One of my favorite shortcuts to find hot deals on Amazon is to check the best seller listings. Amazon is pretty much updating these listings in real-time and often I could spot deep discounted items shooting up in best seller lists in time to purchase them. You can think of the Amazon best seller lists as a view into the shopping intelligence of the crowd.

Amazon Cyber Monday in Numbers

The number of items sells during Cyber Monday is mind blowing. Last year Amazon received more than 36.8 million item orders worldwide. This translated into a record-breaking 426 items ordered per second. 

Last year already half of Amazon’s customers shopped using a mobile device. Amazon has last year revealed some fascinating numbers on their sales. For instance the customers bough enough Rainbow Looms from third-party sellers that the bands can stretch around the circumference of the Earth. Customers also bought enough Hot Wheels to stretch around the Daytona International Speedway racetrack.

Amazon sold enough miniature flashlights to satisfactorily light four collegiate football fields in accordance with NCAA standards. The number of purchased running shoes has been enough to provide a pair to every participant in the top 10 largest marathons in the world. 

We expect Amazon to break the records of last year’s Cyber Monday sales this year as Black Friday 2014 sales have been considerably higher than last year according to the first analyst reports. IBM says that Thanksgiving Day online sales were up 14.3% and Black Friday online sales rose by 9.5%. Cyber Monday 2014 is also predicted to increase over last year. Adobe predicts sales of $2.29 Billion, which is an increase of 16% compared to last year.
