Annie Lennox said that Scots hate the English and it is embarrassing some times.
The singer believes that the Scots are obsessed with the English and both of the people should try to stop hating each other. She has urged the fellow Scots to grow up and start behaving in a fashion that won’t make things embarrassing.
The singer voted “No” in the referendum and she wants the English and Scottish live unitedly. Annie said that she was agnostic about an independent Scotland.
Annie Lennox thought that there would be risk involved if she was going to vote “Yes” in the referendum. Annie Lennox has spent the majority of her life in London and now she thinks that both of the people should stay united.
She thought that it wasn’t going to be wise to divide the Union and said that it was really embarrassing to see the referendum that would let people decide whether they wanted to be a part of the Union or not.
She said that she wanted the Scottish people to put the hatred for the English on one side and they should grow up a little it. She said that English and the Scottish should had put aside differences a long time ago but now things have become embarrassing.
The main reason why Scottish people used to hate the English was because there was once a time when the English used to rule over the Scottish people and they used to think of them as 2nd class citizens.
They wouldn’t give them their proper rights and this is why the hatred for the English kept growing and growing. But now Annie Lennox says, “that time has long gone and it is slightly embarrassing now”.
She thinks that it is total nonsense and that English aren’t the terrible overlord of the Scottish people. Even in June the Harry Potter writer JK Rowling came out and supported the Better Together campaign. Annie Lennox also told the reporters that she was a feminist, who loved men.
