Apple will hold a media event today at 10pm PDT. The event will be streamed live online.
Apple iPad Event is Today: New iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 are confirmed
Today a new Apple event is upon us. Starting at 10am PDT, Apple will unveil the new iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 3. This is 100% confirmed as Apple had a little snafu yesterday leaking screenshots of the manuals for the new iPads on iTunes.
The new iPads will have Touch ID, which enables them to be used for Apple Pay. Apple Pay is likely launching on the weekend after the event. We expect Apple to announce that as well.
Besides the new iPads, Apple is expected to reveal a new iMac with Retina Display and give the details of OS X Yosemite release.
Despite Apple’s apparent sales success with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the AAPL stock did not change since the September announcements. It was up over $100 but is now trading below that mark again at $97.54. Will today’s announcements move the stock? I doubt it. We do not expect a single surprise.
To sum it up. Apple is expected to reveal today the new iPad Air 2 and new iPad mini 3. Apple is also expected to reveal an iMac with Retina Display and possibly also a Retina MacBook Air. Apple is also expected to reveal the release details of OS X Yosemite. You can watch the Apple iPad Oct. 16 Event live online in a video stream.
