Apple will hold a media event for the Apple Watch launch today, March 9. Apple will stream the event live on Apple.com.
Apple will hold a media event today in the San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for Arts. The Apple “Spring Forward” event is expected to be mostly about the Apple Watch launch.
The Apple March 9 event will streamed live again on the Apple.com site starting at 10am PDT. Live streaming video requires Apple’s Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later and Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires 2nd or 3rd generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later.
Apple is now consistently streaming their media event live. The live blogging of the event has run its course for the most part unless Apple fumbles the streaming again as they did last year during the iPhone 6 live stream. The October iPad event worked fine, which raises hopes that the March 9 event live online stream will work well.
Apple has already started to post live blog updates on the Apple Event streaming page. Eddie Cue cracks a joke about the daylight saving time change.
One of the most interesting things to be revealed today by Apple CEO Tim Cook is the Apple Watch pricing. New predictions are making the rounds seeing the high end Apple Watch collection priced at $7,500. Apple tries extremely hard to have consumers perceive the Apple Watch as a luxury fashion item. If they can pull it off the doors open for extremely high margin version of the Apple Watch that will go beyond the Apple Watch Edition models.
Consumers could though cross Apple’s plans and just got for the low-end edition to get the functionality without the bling.
Besides the Apple Watch, the most valuable company in the world is rumored to reveal a new MacBook Air and there is talk about a new Apple TV.
The highlights of the Apple March 9 event and all the announcements will be covered in our Apple News section.
