Apple Refreshes Existing MacBook Air And MacBook Pro Lineup

Apple Updates Existing MacBook Air And MacBook Pro Lineup

Apple

Apple has updated the Macbook Pro and Air family with Intel’s 5Th Generation Processors and faster SSD

While we were surprised at today’s announcement of the new 12 inch retina Macbook, the updates to the existing Macbook line were more than expected and likely to happen. Despite of introducing latest products into the same line, Apple is also ensuring that the existing Macbooks receive their fair share of updates with the specs being kept up to date. The MacBook Air has been updated with Thunderbolt 2 and faster Intel 5th Generation Core i5 processors and in addition to this, the 13-inch MacBook Air will get a flash storage which Apple claims is twice as fast. The 13 inch retina MacBook Pro is getting Apple’s new Force Touch trackpad which doesn’t produce a clicking effect; it rather makes small motors beneath the trackpad vibrate in response to the press.

The 13-inch Pro is being updated with latest Intel 5th Generation Core i5 and i7 processors too along with faster flash storage and the battery life is also receiving a slight kick with an extra hour. Apart from these updates, the new Macbook announced at today’s event is also quite impressive but for some people the internal might not be so practical. In attempts to make the new Macbook more futuristic, Apple has made a move away from the traditional line.

The new MacBook comes with only one port and the CPU is a slow Intel Core M. For those who are planning to go for the latest Macbook, there will be a lot of compromises on way. However, the build and design and the ideas that have gone into this latest Macbook are surely futuristic and some improvements will need to be made along the lines of better and more energy efficient processors. This gives Apple enough reason to also focus on the existing MacBook Air and MacBook Pro since it hasn’t achieved perfection with its latest development. As far as the Air and Pro models are concerned, they are shipping starting from today and will be available on the company’s website.
