Apple still dealing with production issues for Apple Watch, plans to get Foxconn on-board

Apple is struggling with the production of Apple Watch due to its high demand

Apple has successfully launched the Apple Watch couple of weeks back, and is all set to hit retail market on April 24, however, the tech giant is still facing production issues. Apple is continuously pushing its Smart Watch vendors to increase its production in order to fulfill the strong demand upon its availability in the retail market. According to the analysts of Cowen and Company, as per their discussion with technology supply chain in Asia, it has been mentioned that the supply and demand issues will remain there for some time. Apple is in process to get Foxconn on board as Smart Watch manufacturer, which will help to increase the production in order to meet a strong demand.

There is also news that Quanta Computer is the only vendor, which has been working on Apple Watch for some time, since it has won the Apple Watch contract. In addition, one of the major parts of Apple Watch is its AMOLED screen, which is expected to be far more expensive than LCD screens. According to the reports, the AMOLED screens for Apple Watch will be delivered by Samsung, which also points to a strong partnership between two major rivals. Analysts also believe that though Samsung will be a vendor for Apple Watch AMOLED screens, it will not be providing AMOLED screens for any upcoming iPhone models.

Supply chain sources have also mentioned that the next version of Apple Watch will be launched later in year 2015. However, it is not confirmed whether the sources were pointing at the actual Apple Watch or a major software update. Some analysts also believed that the new Smart Watch will be able to work on its own, and will not require connectivity with iPhone. It will make its appearance with its own connectivity options and OLED display, supplied by Samsung. For now, Apple Watch is expected to launch on Friday, April 24, 2015. The most economical version of Apple Watch will cost around $350 for Sports model, and $17,000 for 18 Karat gold Edition. Major features include reading emails, addressing Siri, receiving calls and tracking fitness goals on the Smart Watch.
