Following last week’s interview with Tim Cook to The Telegraph, where the 54-year old Apple CEO revealed titillating details of the Apple Watch and its launch, Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac is reporting that Apple’s wearable will not just launch in the U.S. this April. Tim Cook reportedly visited an Apple Store in Berlin last week, where he told employees that the Apple Watch would also launch in Germany in April.

Apple employees reportedly told Gurman that the Apple Watch might launch first in the U.S., then in Germany and other countries later in the month—a sign that Apple is aggressively marketing its long-awaited smartwatch, even more vigorous than the first iPhone and iPad launches.

Sources added that, in addition to Germany, countries like Australia, France, Canada, China, and the U.K. could also benefit from an April launch, although Apple didn’t comment on the report. It was previously reported that Apple had begun conducting training for the Apple Watch to retail employees in other countries. China, too, is eager to receive the Apple Watch. Chinese supermodel, Liu Wen, endorsed the Apple Watch by appearing on the cover of Vogue China last year.

Additionally, Tim Cook teased a number of applications that will be supported by the Apple Watch. Cook says that Apple is already working with some of the best hotels in the world to allow consumers to use the Apple Watch to unlock doors. The Apple Watch will even be able to replace check-in processes in hotels, Cook said. The Apple CEO reportedly mentioned that the Apple Watch will not only do cool things, but will also change the whole business.

If the reports are true, then it shows that Apple is revamping its product launch strategy. Apple usually launches its products first in the U.S. before bringing them to other countries in Europe and Asia. Perhaps the timing is right, considering the burgeoning smartwatch market. This week, a number of smartwatches debuted at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
