Apple’s health and fitness-tracking iOS application dubbed “Healthbook” has been leaked.

The next big step for Apple /4/not be an Apple TV, but will most likely focus on the health and fitness market. According to Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac, Apple is developing an iOS application that could change the mobile heath and fitness industry. And, yes, Gurman has screenshots to support his claim.

Dubbed “Healthbook,” the app borrows much of its interface from Apple’s current Passbook application. Based on the screenshot above, the app can track all sorts of data ranging from blood pressure to blood sugar, and from oxygen saturation to respiratory rate.

Gurman writes that each category is designed to be a card having a specific color. Healthbook, as it is called, also reportedly features three main tabs – Activity, Weight, and Nutrition. The first tab shows the precise number of steps a user has taken as well as calories burned and the distance walked. The “Weight” tab can presumably display weight and height data such as BMI and body fat percentage. The third tab, the Nutrition section, can allegedly track food intake.

Gurman adds that Healthbook can also store heart rate data in beats per minutes. It can also record blood pressure in both the diastolic and systolic forms.

Perhaps one of the most interesting features of the app is its blood monitoring functionalities.  The “Bloodwork” section can reportedly display different blood-related data points including glucose levels and oxygen saturation.

Other reported features of Healthbook include the capability to track a user’s hydration levels, respiratory rate, and sleeping habits. There’s even a section called “Emergency Card” that can store a user’s vital data such as name, birthdate, blood type, organ donor status (if valid), and address. This feature will be extremely useful during emergency situations.

Everything about the Healthbook app is brilliant until you realize that Apple’s iPhone cannot track everything that the app can. In short, the iPhone does not yet have the technology to fully support Healthbook’s features. This brings us to the speculation that Apple is also working on a fitness tracker, an iWatch, perhaps.

Gurman noted that Healthbook could debut alongside iOS 8 in June. Apple did not comment on the report.
