The Samsung Note Edge will be forgotten once this new dual-curved concept smartphone with a 6-inch Active Bending OLED display by LG Display comes out.

At the International CES 2015, LG’s sister firm LG Display has introduced a new innovation that bends on both sides along with many other LG devices that are all about curves. This includes the new LG G Flex2 and plenty of new curved TVs.

But LG Display unveiled a new smartphone at CES 2014 with a 6-inch Active Bending OLED display that bends downwards along its sides.

Now at the CES 2015 we have seen such innovations that bend such as the Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge. However this Samsung smartphone only curves on one side unlike the LG Display’s better and new concept HD display plastic OLED device that will curve on both of its edges.

However, many people will not be happy to learn that the dual-curved smartphone only comes with a 720p resolution and is only 6 inches. Although the curved edges will serve as narrow secondary screens that user can swipe and tap through.

But what will make this new smartphone by LG successful in the market is that it should overcome the problems of the Note Edge. This means that LG will have to get all app developers and makers on board in order to justify its eye catching form with a useful function for the rounded edges.

The Verge has posted many images of the dual-curved LG device, some of which are posted above while CNet actually posted a video demonstartion of how this 6-inch concept phone bends on both sides.

Moreover at the CES 2015 display this new smartphone was unveiled as an unnamed prototype but LG Display stated that this smartphone is ready for mass production. So this means that the phone could be seen out in the markets by March for the Mobile World Congress.
