CES 2015: Pioneer and Kenwood debut New Multimedia Receivers with CarPlay and Android Auto

Kenwood’s Multimedia Receiver with Apple’s CarPlay and Android Auto in One

It seems that new ideas and innovations won’t stop pouring in at the CES 2015.

Pioneer Electronics Inc. announced today that it will be one of the first to offer Android Auto compatible aftermarket products. Three of Pioneers second generation in-dash multimedia receivers which include the AVIC-8100NEX, AVIC-7100NEX and AVH-4100NEX.

These will feature Android Auto integration which will allow the consumers to quickly connect their compatible smartphones and extend the Android platform in a way that is purpose built for the car.

Pioneer has designed these with safety in mind and the Android Auto utilizes a simple and intuitive interface and powerful new voice actions which are there in order to minimize distraction so that the users can stay focused on the road and keep away from any mishaps. 

Ted Cardenas the vice president of marketing for the Car Electronics Division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. stated that the integration of Android Auto into the company’s second generation NEX receivers provides compatible Android smartphone owners the capability of utilizing the power and connectivity of their devices for navigation, music and communications.

Moreover he stated that the Android Auto will deliver a familiar and consistent user experience that is optimized specifically for the automotive environment. This has been equipped with an advanced speech technology that is there in order for a quick and easy voice control plus a unique visual display of useful and important information he explained.

Moreover Pioneer’s Android Auto compatible units have been equipped with features such as a high resolution 7 inch touchscreen display, an external microphone for high quality hands free calling and a wired remote input that will be used for optional integration with factory installed steering wheel audio controls. This makes the Pioneer Android Audio one of the best in the market.

However Kenwood has not been behind from its competitor in this new technology and that is why Kenwood has also displayed the DDX9902S which is the first receiver in its lineup.

Moreover it will include Apple CarPlay which is the smarter and safer way to use iPhone in a vehicle. This multimedia receiver by Kenwood will also come along with Android Auto which includes features of an Android phone through a driver friendly interface.

This means that Pioneer is not alone in this line of receivers and will get a tough competition from its competitor Kenwood.

 Tony Mercado the marketing manager for Kenwood stated that the company understands that the consumers are very loyal to the brand or platform of smartphone that they use.

That is why he explained that the company wanted to develop a multimedia receiver that will not force the customers to choose based on their preferred smartphone.

So he said that the company came up with the DDX9902S which will allow the customers to enjoy a safe and integrated experience with their favorite smartphones. 

Now this receiver basically has been equipped with a high-sensitivity touch screen that will allow the users to easily make selections and then interact with the screen content.

Moreover with Apples CarPlay many familiar applications will be within the reach and will display the correct amount of information. These new receivers will be displayed at the CES 2015 that will be held in Las Vegas from the 6th till the 9th of January.
