CES 2015 will feature Largest Ever “Internet of Things” Showcase

It is said that more than 900 exhibitors will share services, technologies and products that connect everyday devices to the network at the CES 2015.

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has announced today that the International CES 2015 is going to host the largest ever showcase of products, technologies and services that make up the Internet of Things (IoT).

The CEA announced that more than 900 exhibitors will take part in this and share their innovations. The CES is owned and controlled by CEA and the CES 2015 is the world’s largest gathering place for all those businesses that thrive on consumer technology. The CES 2015 will run from the 6th of January in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Karen Chupka the senior vice president of International CES and corporate business strategy CEA stated that the Internet of Things is the most talked about topic in tech right now.

Karen further stated that it’s all about the opportunity to connect everyday items such as cars, kitchen appliances and home security systems to networked devices like PCs and smartphones for better control and management of one’s everyday lives.

Karen also said that they were thrilled that the CES 2015 will bring together all of the companies and products that are making this possible for the users. 

There is going to be a Sensors Marketplace which will be highlighting one of the vital technologies that is enabling the IoT. Exhibitors and companies that are participating in this marketplace include eyeSight Mobile Technologies, QuickLogic Corp. and Logbar.

Moreover the Smart Home Marketplace will demonstrate a smarter and more efficient home accelerated by smartphones and tablets that will be interacting with a number of connected devices such as basic security systems to connected lighting systems.

Some of the companies that will be exhibiting IoT technologies at the CES 2015 include Lowe’s, Bosch, iDevices, Konnect Labs, Muzzley and Blinksight among many others. 

Moreover names such as Boo-Keun Yoon the president of Samsung electronics Co. Ltd and Brian Krzanich the CEO of Intel Corp. will be sharing their thoughts and insights on the IoT innovations.

Some other sessions that will take place at the CES 2015 include privacy and the IoT: Navigating Policy Issues. This will be held on Tuesday the 6th of January from 1-2 PM. Here the manufacturers and policymakers will discuss steps that each can take to build consumer trust in devices and even in applications.

Then there is the Impact of the Internet of Things where experts will be discussing the impact of IoT products which will include what application areas are going to have the biggest adoption or change. This will be held on the 7th of January from 2:15-3:15 PM.

The CES 2015 will be featuring more than 3500 exhibitors that will be showcasing their innovations. The CES 2015 starts from next week in Las Vegas, Nevada from the 6th of January till the 9th of January.
