Chevrolet-FNR stuns at China Auto Show 2015

GM revealed an alien looking autonomous electric concept car at the Shanghai Auto Show 2015 dubbed Chevy FNR.

The Shanghai 2015 Auto Show opened today. This is the largest Auto Show In China. GM revealed a very futuristic concept car with the Chevrolet-FNR. The Chevrolet-FNR is an autonomous electric concept vehicle. It was developed in Shanghai by GM’s Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) joint venture.

The Chevrolet-FNR boasts a futuristic capsule design. It has crystal laser headlights and taillights, dragonfly dual swing doors, magnetic hubless wheel electric motors and a wireless auto-charge system.

The Chevrolet-FNR is loaded with a range of intelligent technologies usually seen only in science fiction movies. They include sensors and roof-mounted radar that can map out the environment to enable driverless operation, Chevy Intelligent Assistant and iris recognition start. The Chevrolet-FNR can also serve as a “personal assistant” to map out the best route to the driver’s preferred destination.

In self-driving mode, the vehicle’s front seats can swivel 180 degrees to face the rear seats, creating a more intimate setting. The driver can switch to manual mode through the gesture control feature.

GM celebrates the 10th Anniversary of its Chevrolet brand in China.

The China Auto 2015 show has a general exhibition area of over 350,000sqm. The Auto Shanghai 2015 has attracted the active participation of around 2,000 domestic and international exhibitors from 18 countries and regions. Up to 1,343 complete vehicles will be on display at the show, including 109 world first issue cars.

The Auto Shanghai 2015 show is open today and tomorrow for press only. On April 22 to April 24 are professional days and April 25 to April 29 are public days.
