Favi projector debuts for under $300

There are a number of pico projectors on the market today. These are little projectors that are designed to be very portable and to throw a larger image than a smartphone or tablet can provide. Favi has announced its latest projector called the Favi Pico+.

This little projector isn’t much larger than a smartphone and can throw an image up to 100-inches. It’s not that bright at 85 lumens, so you will need a dark room for the best image quality. The projector has integrated WiFi and supports Miracast, Airplay, and DLNA. The projector can be used as a WiFi hotspot.

Power comes from a 5000mAh internal battery. That battery will also charge your device when it is connected via USB. The projector uses DLP and LED technology with the light source good for 20,000 hours. The native resolution of the projector is 858 x 480. The device is available now for $299.

“With only your smartphone and the FAVI Pico+ projector, business users and students have complete control over their presentation content and display” says Jeremy Yakel, President of FAVI Entertainment. “It includes a built-in WiFi hotspot allowing you to wirelessly project your mobile content without the need for an external WiFi connection. Furthermore, everyday users can easily pull up their saved content, movies and photos from any external USB device or SD Card. The Pico+ supports standard HDMI from cable/satellite TV, Blu-ray players or game consoles making it an ideal projector for home use.”
