  • Ford introduces one of its most toughest and smartest truck F-150 Raptor

Ford F-150 Raptor truck is the ultimate off-road performance that driver can get and has been equipped with the all-new 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine.

Ford is America’s truck leader and today the company unveiled its new F-150 Raptor which is the ultimate high performance off-road truck at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2015.

Ford has developed this new truck in such a way that it is the toughest, most capable and smartest off-roader that anyone could get. Raj Nair the vice president of Ford group for Global Product Development stated that when the company fist created the Raptor it had set out to prove to everyone that vehicle performance is not just measured at the street or at the track but it can also be measured off-road.

Now the F-150 Raptor has a purpose built frame that basically features more high strength steel than the current Raptor. The company has used high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy which helps in saving more than 500 pounds of weight. Plus this new model has been equipped with the first ever dual exhaust and new 17 inch wheels.

Another thing that will make all the off-roaders happy is that the new Raptor is powered by Ford’s new second-generation 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine that produces more power with greater efficiency.

Now the high output 3.5 liter EcoBoost will only be seen in the Raptor F-150 lineup. Plus it will also be paired with an all-new 10 speed transmission in order to improve efficiency. Then there is the new transfer case that will be experienced in this new model.

This transfer case manages power distribution between the front and rear wheels. Jamal Hameedi the chief engineer of Ford Performance stated that this new transfer case will offer a better traction for a greater variety of terrain at low and high speeds which means both on-road and off-road.

The Raptor also features calibration changes to its main powertrain, traction control, ABS and AdvanceTrac stability control for optimal performance. Moreover Ford is giving the option of six preset modes for the truck to its customers, depending on the terrain and driving conditions.

These include a normal mode for everyday driving, a weather mode for rain or snow, a street mode for higher performance, a mud and sand mode for muddy and sandy terrain, a rock mode which is basically for low speed rock crawling and a Baja mode which is for high speed desert running. With all these different modes Ford is giving out its customers the best driving experience according to their preferences.

Plus the F-150 Raptor also comes with a standard new FOX Racing Shox with custom internal bypass technology that works to damp and stiffen suspension travel over rough terrain in order to help prevent the truck rom bottoming out. Ford has taken care of very small detail and built this truck into one of the most desirable trucks at the NAIAS 2015 which is being held in Detroit from 12th January to 25th January 2015.
