This new Ford GT supercar has set new standards for Ford innovation and the car features one of the most powerful EcoBoost production engine ever.

Today Ford introduced its all new GT supercar that serves as a technology showcase for top EcoBoost performance, lightweight carbon fiber construction and aerodynamics. This will add to the list of Ford Performance vehicles coming by 2023 making it the 12th on the list.

The Ford GT will join other Ford models such as Focus RS, Shelby GT350, Shelby GT350R and F-150 Raptor. The production of this car will start late next year and will be out in the market to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars.

Mark Fields the president and chief executive officer of Ford while referring to Henry Ford’s win of a 1901 car race stated that Ford has always kept innovation at the core of its business and that the company’s first innovation was not in a laboratory but rather on the racetrack.

Henry Ford’s win of the car race in 1901 was the reason that people were interested in investing in the company. Mark further stated that the company is very passionate and determined about innovation through performance and developing vehicles that are desired by people.

This new GT supercar by Ford is featuring a rear-wheel drive, an aerodynamic two door coupe body shell and a mid-mounted engine. Plus all this is supported by the powerful EcoBoost production engine which is basically a next generation twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6.

This engine produces more than 600 horsepower so you could imagine what the car can do once its hits the road. Plus what is most interesting is the extensive use of lightweight materials by Ford such as carbon fiber and aluminum. Moreover the car will also come along with the SYNC 3 which is the latest version of Ford’s advanced connectivity system.

Raj Nair the vice president of Ford group for Global Product Development stated that the GT is the ultimate dream of anyone who desires a supercar. He further stated that the GT also includes technologies that can be easily applied across Ford’s future product portfolio. He also said that this shows the commitment of Ford in developing improved vehicles for its customers.

Now what can be the advantage of using carbon fiber in developing this model! Well the answer is quite simple, the carbon fiber reduces the weight of the car which ultimately leads to better acceleration, braking, safety, handling and efficiency.

Ford GT is featuring an aluminum front and rear sub frames. Plus the EcoBoost engines that have been given to this model help to increase the efficiency remarkably, plus equipped with the all new port/direct dual fuel-injection setup helps to improve the engine response.

Having such new, unique and innovative features will definitely make the Ford GT a car to be reckoned with at the NAIAS 2015 which is being held in Detroit
