Guess Watches will be powered by Kairos Hybrid Smartwatch Technology

Smartwatch startup Kairos Watches announced today a licensing deal for Guess Watches.

The Kairos hybrid mechanical smart watch integrates a Swiss or Japanese powered automatic movement with smart watch electronics. The Kairos smartwatches are utilizing a semi-transparent screen that displays smartphone notifications on top of the mechanical watch face. We already said that Kairos Hybrid smartwatch technology is the best solution for Swiss Luxury watches

Now the first Swiss watch company agrees with us and licensed the Kairos smartwatch technology. Kairos Watches today announced a strategic partnership with Sequel AG, the exclusive distributor of GUESS Watches and Gc Watches. Kairos Watches will be providing the smart watch technology behind the Hybrid Mechanical Smart Watch and the Kairos T-Band.

“When we discussed the potential collaboration with Kairos and saw the demonstration of the Hybrid Mechanical Smart Watch and T-Band, we saw an opportunity,” said Cindy Livingston, President and CEO of Sequel AG. “The smart watch technology, combined with the design of our products, fit perfectly with the company culture and was too good to pass.”

The Kairos technology keeps the value timelessness of an mechanical watch intact. The T-Band is even not interfering with the mechanical watch at all. The smartband can be just exchanged or replaced with a traditional watch band.

There is already a Guess Smartwatch that is powered by Martian. The Guess Connect have a small digital display in the watch face to display notifications.

“Mechanical watch enthusiasts who are interested in the convenience of a smart watch will soon be able to choose amongst an array of leading watch brands that embrace Kairos’ cutting-edge smart watch technologies,” said Sam Yang, Founder and Managing Director of Kairos Watches. “GUESS Watches and Gc Watches feature a spectrum of designs and styles, ranging from classic, fashionable, and daring designs.”

Kairos has not shipped yet their first smartwatch. Shipping is expected to start in the second quarter of 2015.
