The $14.99 HBO Now streaming service is now available on the Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.
The highly anticipated HBO streaming service is here. HBO Now does not require a Cable ID. For $14.99 consumers get everything a HBO channel subscription on a Cable service offers. HBO’s is home exclusive shows including Game of Thrones, True Blood, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, and many more. The new season of Game of Thrones will premiere on the weekend. Game of Thrones is seen as one of the major drivers for HBO Now adoption.
The HBO Now iPhone and iPad apps are available for download on iTunes. The HBO Now icon is now included in the (crowded) Apple TV home screen.
Apple made a big fuzz about HBO Now being exclusive. A week ago though it has been revealed that Sling TV will also offer HBO Now for $15 per month on top of its $20 base package.
HBO Now service will be available exclusively on the Apple TV box and Apple devices for $14.99 per month. HBO Now will launch in time for the premiere of the 5th season of Game of Thrones on April 12.
Apple supports the HBO Now launch with reducing the price of the Apple TV box to $69.
Via the HBO Now app, subscribers can also watch HBO Now on iPhones, iPads and the iPod touch. The first month of HBO Now is free, without a long-term contract commitment.
