HP DreamColor Z Displays Debut With Support For Over A Billion Colors

HP launched a pair of new computer monitors today that are aimed at graphics pros and designers that need all the color reproduction they can get. The monitors are the Z27x and Z24x DreamColor units that each supports 1.07 billion colors.

HP says that the level of color error the monitors produce is so small that the human eye can’t discern the error. The Z27x monitor has a 27-inch screen size and the Z24x monitor has a 24-inch screen. Other than the screen size, the major difference between the monitors is that the Z27x supports 4K resolution while the Z24x supports only 2k resolution.

“The HP DreamColor Engine and our line of DreamColor products have become the gold standards for professionals who demand color accuracy,” said /7/Kim, vice president and general manager, PC displays and accessories, HP. “This next generation of HP DreamColor Displays will once again disrupt color technology, providing customers with richer and more accurate colors than ever before.”

Both displays have 10-bit color accuracy with easy calibration. The Z27x covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, 100% of the AdobeRGB gamut, and 99% of the DCI-P3 gamut. Both of the monitors are available now with the 27-inch selling for $1499 and the 24-inch selling for $599.
