HTC is trying to attain higher benchmarks by improving the One M8’s features.

Many have expected that the HTC One M8 would be involved in making its processor even better to set benchmarks as a result. HTC responded to this expectation by claiming that it intends on making this a feature of the phone.  Last year, when a code was uncovered on the Galaxy S4 which was able to kick the phone into hyper-drive on detection of other running benchmarks, Samsung seemed on the defensive end.

Something similar was experienced with the Galaxy Note 3; consequent to which a report was issued which mentioned that many Android devices which do not come directly from Google, have been involved in similar issues. HTC One M8, on the other hand, even before it was launched, attained a great reputation due to the leaked benchmarks for the much awaited phone. HTC One M8 was expected to even beat its future competitor, Galaxy S5.

However these results have even seemed questionable as there are two versions of the benchmarking app, AnTuTu, which is extremely popular. Taiwan-based website, ePrice claims that the AnTuTu X is the latest version of the benchmark and happens to fight against the ‘cheating’ techniques to provide a real estimate of how the phone /4/function in a real world setting. When the One M8 is scored against other phones on AnTuTu X, it comes in after the Galaxy S5, the Song Xperia Z and the LG G Pro 2.
