Increasing Online sopping trend on Black Friday this year

Strong Black Friday Online Sales Give Hope for Big Holiday Numbers

Numerous industry studies have suggested that the trend of online shopping keeps on growing tremendously on Black Friday and there has been an increase of 20 percent year over year. This only seems to indicate that the popularity of the brick-and-mortar stores is being taken to the internet too and people obviously resort to more convenient ways.

A couple of studies from Adobe, ChannelAdvisor and Custora have revealed that in comparison to the last year, Black Friday sales have shown an increase between 20.6 percent and 24 percent. And out of the total sales, those completed through mobile devices accounted for between 27 percent and 30 percent of the total sales as suggested by these studies.

The rise in e-sales was predicted initially by comScore which said that total e-commerce sales would rise 16 percent for the entire holiday season which includes months November and December. So we can only see by the end of December how true this prediction holds and if it is correct then that would clearly show that more and more online retailers are pushing their promotions on the internet and as compared to the previous years, Cyber Monday is going to show slower growth this time around.

Adobe’s study might just be a little more reliable as it claims to have included nearly 70 percent of the 100 top Internet retailers but as opposed to this, Custora is mostly popular with young e-commerce companies. These two studies, combined with those which come from ChannelAdvisor which works with online sellers to sell their goods across a variety of online marketplaces, would be enough to paint a rather more accurate picture of the overall e-commerce market.
