Apple is releasing iOS 8 today.

The new Apple iOS 8 will be released today. As usual the new iOS comes one day before the release of the new iPhone. Apple is expected to release the iOS 8 update at 10am PDT. The problem is that the servers are usually overloaded very quickly. If you catch the release early enough chances are high that the download runs smoothly. If you try a bit too late you will be stuck with hours of waiting.
The iOS 8 update will work for iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, , and iPod touch 5G.
