Jay Z’s new streaming site TIDAL has been supported by various artists who have turned their Twitter profile pictures the official blue color of Tidal and encouraged their fans to do so as well.

Jay Z recently bought the Swedish based company Tidal for $56 million through his company Project Panther. Ever since then, the site has gone through rigorous work based on Jay Z’s ideas about how the site should be.

The official website for Tidal has been launched offering a free trial period after which the user can put in a monthly subscription of $9.99 for music and $19.99 for the high fidelity option. The site offers High Fidelity(HIFI) music, High Definition music videos and Curated Editorials guided by music journalists.

The site aims to provide CD quality music with access to $25 million tracks, 75,000 music videos and other features including artist interviews. The site is going to have a different take on how much the featured artists on Tidal will be paid.

Instead of the sites that pay minimum to the artists, Jay Z has different strategy to pay all the artists what they truly deserve for their music. Artists have also supported Jay Z’s idea of Tidal.

Stars including Beyonce, Rihanna, Coldplay, Nicki Minaj and Madonna supported the site by turning their Twitter profile picture to the signature blue of Tidal’s site.

They all encouraged their fans and followers to join the “new tide” and “history in the making for music”; the site is yet to launch their works on the site but there is a star who has already made her spot on Tidal. After pulling off her work from Spotify, a site she believed was not fair, Taylor Swift has put up her entire work save 1989 album on Tidal already.

The site is available in US and Europe currently for a free trial followed by a monthly subscription offer. It is going to be hard for Jay Z to launch a paid streaming service where other portals like Sound Cloud, Spotify, Big Machine Records, iTunes and Google Music to compete with, Jay Z will have to bring something unique to the listeners along with the stars.
