Jennifer Lopez Faces Legal Backlash for too Sexy Performance

A lawsuit has been filed against the singer “for disturbing public order and tarnishing women’s respect”

Jennifer Lopez is facing severe amount of criticism following her first televised concert in a North African nation, Morocco. Even a lawsuit has been filed against her “for tarnishing women’s honor and respect.”

The 45-year old singer played a concert in Mawazine Festival in Rabat, Morocco on /4/29 in front of 160,000 people with the focus on seductive hip movements. According to the legal documents obtained by TMZ, an education group filed a lawsuit, claiming that Lopez’s show that featured skimpy outfits and suggestive stage moves “disturbed public order and tarnished women’s honor and respect.”

As soon as the concert went air, political parties and local media started to react negatively. The Minister of Communication Mustapha Khalfi was criticized for allowing the performance to air on public television. Even it sparked the calls of the resignation to the minister which he reportedly declined but decided to discuss the issue with television’s ethics committee.

Mustapha Khalfi further said “What was broadcast is unacceptable and goes against broadcasting law.” 

Many other members of the ruling Justice and Development Party also called singer’s performance “a breach of public decency.” Members of parliament also requested to hold a meeting for discussing why the concert was broadcast live.
