Joan Rivers to auction furnishings from her home

Auction has over 150 items

Joan Rivers is a well-known name. She is mostly known for being a somewhat funny comedian and as the go to person if you want to get insulted for your clothing. Rivers is apparently holding an auction to sell off the furnishings form her country home reports Web Pro news.

The house is located in Connecticut and the furnishings will be auctioned by Christie’s. The items being sold off total over 150 and include furniture, art, ceramics, and other stuff. The home itself was sold last year for $4.4 million.

Some of the big items in the auction don’t actually seem that big. They include a bed that is upholstered in pink linen expected to bring around $3000. Fifteen animal horn trophies could bring $2000 and a pair of white palm trees that should bring $5000.

“This home was filled with some of the treasure of my life,” Joan Rivers said in a statement that announced the sale.

Any time a celebrity starts to sell off a bunch of their stuff, you have to wonder if there is a money issue involved. Rivers was also recently cake bombed as part of a publicity stunt for a line of QVC items by Miss Piggy of Muppets fame.
