Kim and Khloe and Kanye visit Armenian Genocide Memorial

Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kanye West headed to the Armenian Genocide memorial to pay their respects and spent the day with sentiment knowing their heritage.

Keeping up With the Kardashians took an emotional turn as Kim and Khloe headed down to the Armenian Genocide memorial at Tsitsernakaberd in Yerevan. The sister duo was accompanied by Kim’s husband Kanye West and their cousins Kara and Kourtni.

The family headed down to the memorial holding bouquets of beautiful red tulips and surrounded by media and fans. Kim wore a perfectly fitting and stylish red jumpsuit for the occasion while Khloe wore a conservative blue one, according to E! News.

Kanye wore black and so did Kara and Kourtni. The family toured the complex with deputy director of the Genocide Institute Suren Manukian. He also guided them about the events and occurrences of the genocide when 1.5 million Armenians had lost their lives to Ottoman Empire. 

They laid down their flowers around the memorial fire and observed a minute of silence in respect. It was an emotional moment and a touching one since the 100th anniversary of the event is a few days ahead.

The Armenian government honored the Kardashians by gifting them a piece of land in Armenia. The sisters were awarded a special certificate with their names and their family. Khloe shared the picture captioned; “Kourt and Rob we got you a souvenir!!!!!! Land in Armenia!!!”

The certificate was followed by a meeting of the sisters with the Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. They also visited the statue of Armenian Mother in Yerevan. Kim shared the news about her trip with Khloe and expressed her views about strong women in history; “Khloe & I visiting Mother Armenia yesterday.

This statue reminds visitors of the strong female figures in Armenian history. I love how powerful women are and respected so much in our culture!”

The Kardashians planned an eight day trip to Armenia to know about their heritage. They are fourth generation Armenian from their father’s side and this is their first trip to the country.
