CES 2014 is commencing this week, and Lenovo is playing the early bird with a slew of new products including the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. As might have guessed, the 14-inch ultrabook is made from carbon fiber, a material known for its lightness, strength, and incredible resistance to chemicals.

You would wonder why Lenovo would use carbon fibers on the ultrabook, but considering the perils and risks of today’s mobile lifestyle, it is easy to understand why. It’s not just lightweight (just 2.8 pounds), but it’s also indestructible.
Another potential feature is the Adaptive Keyboard, which presumably adjusts based on the software/ application used. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon also features “Rapid Charge” technology which reportedly charges 80 percent of the battery in an hour.
Other features include a ColorBust Display for sharp images, optional built-in 4G capability, voice and gesture controls. Hardware-wise, the ultrabook is powered by Haswell Core i5 and i7 processors, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB SSD. The price is set at $1,299.
