The 6000 pearls on Lupita Nyong’o’s Oscar dress are not real jewels, as the thief himself returns the dress and reveals the truth about the alleged $150000 Calvin Klein dress!

Lupita Nyong’o’s white pearls Oscar gown reportedly worth $150000 was returned to The London Hotel in West Hollywood by the thief himself. The dress was returned on Friday 2 days after it was stolen at 2:30 pm in the afternoon. The robber reportedly contacted TMZ and told them about the location of the dress.

In a surprising turn of events TMZ also revealed the thief disclosed the Oscar dress is a fake. Apparently the 6000 pearls on the Calvin Klein dress are all fake and not genuine as the world was led to believe earlier. As the truth about the dress has been unearthed it raises the question why would a dress cost $150000 if it did not even contain real diamonds.

According to TMZ the bandit returned the dress to show the world how celebrities deceive the world and the much hyped about dress is nothing more than a fake. The thief apparently took the dress when the door to Lupita’s room was ajar at The London Hotel. The burglar admitted along with his accomplices he took two pearls out of the dress and took it to the garment district in Downtown, L.A. where the pearls were revealed to have been artificial.

The thief provided the directions on where to find the dress himself. TMZ then informed the L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. about its location which was at The London Hotel in a bathroom adjacent to a fitness centre. The dress was deposited in a garment bag inside a trash bag placed underneath a sink on the second floor bathroom of the hotel and was retrieved by the Police.

In a statement by the law enforcement department the press was informed the Calvin Klein representatives never told the Police if the pearls were real or fake. The only individual to have even valued the dress at $150000 to the press was Lupita’s stylist. The stylist apparently took liberties about the authenticity of the dress’ worth. Detectives are further working to confirm if the dress is the same one Lupita wore at the Oscars or just another fake white pearls dress that greatly resembles the one stolen from The London Hotel.

An unidentified source from Calvin Klein associated with the department of Francisco Costa claims no one from the Calvin Klein ever said the dress was made with real pearls and they always assumed everyone knew it was a fake, but apparently not. The source further went on to joke that who makes a gown from real jewel… at least ever since Cleopatra’s demise.
