Megan Fox, Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen and many others join the cast of James Franco‘s film ‘Zeroville’.
Well James Franco knows how to put together an all-star team, which he has done for his new directorial Zeroville. The movie will feature actors such as Will Ferrell, Seth Rogen, Jacki Weaver, Megan Fox, Danny McBride, Dave Franco, Craig Robinson, Joey King and Horatio Sanz. And Megan Fox will play the female lead opposite James Franco.
Zeroville is based on Steve Erickson’s acclaimed 2007 novel which is based on a film obsessed architecture student who comes to Los Angeles in 1969. Franco will not only direct but will also act. He will play Ike Jerome the film obsessed student with images of Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift on his shaved head.
Ike travels through the sex and drug-filled world of that era and meets important figures including filmmakers like George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Brian De Palma. Franco first thought of starting Zeroville in 2011 but only began shooting recently in California. Last month at the Venice Film Festival James was spotted with a shaved head and tattoos just like his character.
Rogen who has worked previously with James is going to play ‘Viking Man’, who is described as a weird, cigar-chomping hippy, who acts as a guide to Franco’s character. Weaver will play as a film editor who acts as a mentor to Franco’s character while the comedian Danny McBride plays a sinister financier. Megan Fox who is working for the first time with James will be seen playing the role of a femme-fatale character Soledad.
Franco recently wrote for ‘Vice’ magazine where he explains his reading habits. His reading list includes ‘Skywalking: The Life and Films of George Lucas” and ‘Easy Riders, Raging Bulls: How the Sex-Drugs-and-Rock n Roll Generation Saved Hollywood’, both these books revolve around the same subject as Zeroville. This shows that James Franco has done his homework and has invested time into this project.
Just like most of James Franco’s projects this also seems to be an enthralling one, but with the cast of this project and especially Meagan Fox as a femme fatale this could top his chart.
