Molly was once the greatest teen star out there and has recently celebrated her 46th birthday

For those who don’t know or have probably forgotten, let us rejoice some older memories and revive the early years of Molly Ringwald when she was considered the greatest teen star of all time. Last month the actress turned 46 and next year she will be on to celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of her iconic coming of age comedy-drama The Breakfast Club next year.

Molly Ringwald played the role of “princess” Claire Standish in the The Breakfast Club which, according to the scripted details, took place around suburban Chicago on March 24th, 1984. It revolved around five teenagers who appeared to have come from varying high school crowds and they spend a Saturday evening together serving their detention. While they are left to battle against their corrupt principal, they also fight a war amongst themselves when they soonr realise that they might just be more complex than their respective stereotypes would deem. With a story as interesting as this, the movie was sure to be a huge hit and it was! As it turned out, we still remember this movie as one of the greatest teen films ever produced. It was made even better by outstanding performances by Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy.

Some other notable works of Molly Ringwald include John Hughes films Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink and during her 80s heyday, she was definitely a box office draw. The Breakfast Club was no ordinary movie and upon release it was a huge hit with a budget of $1 million and after release ranked on in $45,875,171 domestically and $51,525,171 worldwide.The movie received some amazing reviews from Rotten Tomatoes which gave it 91% “Certified Fresh” rating.
