NAIAS 2015 will be held at COBO Center in Detroit, Michigan.

Innovation at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2015 will be at the front when the inaugural NAIAS Technology Showcase shows the integration of technology and the automotive industry during the Press Preview and Industry Preview.

This will take place from the 12th till the 15th of January in Hall E at COBO Center in Detroit. It will mainly focus on the flash-forward technologies that will impact automation, efficiency and connectivity in the next generation of vehicles.

The Technology Showcase at the NAIAS 2015 is going to offer companies from around the globe an opportunity and platform for showcasing their breakthrough technologies by providing product demonstrations and revealing fresh designs.

Some of the Scheduled activities include hyper-connected automotive technology, fuel efficiency and Intelligent Transportation System. Some of the companies that will be displaying include Alpine Electronics, Modern Car Safety Technologies, ASC, Covisint, Ricardo, NextEnergy, Mojio, Square One, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and many others. 

Moreover the visitors at the NAIAS 2015 will have the opportunity to ride along in the world’s first full-size working 3-D printed car. The 3-D printed car is called the Strati and is the innovation of a Phoenix based Local Motors which is a technology company that designs, builds and sells vehicles.

Local Motors will showcase a mid-model refresh of the car after a live demonstration of the three-phased, micro manufacturing process on the main show floor. The Phase 1 will include the 3-D printing of the vehicle structure which will take around 40 hours of continuous printing.

Then there is the Phase 2 during which the vehicle is milled. Then the Phase 3 which is the final phase of this process. In this phase the car is rapidly assembled. The visitors at the NAIAS 2015 will then be able to ride in the made-from-scratch automobile on the Shell Innovation Track that is located in the Technology showcase in Hall E which.

The Shell Innovation Track is sponsored by the Shell Oil Company. The track will be the launch pad for vehicle demonstrations, competitions and other industry exhibits. Shell is present in more than 70 companies and is part of the global group of energy. The company is a vital player in the future of the auto industry. 

Students from many different universities will participate in a range of displays and demonstrations which also include solar technology, racing performance, fuel mileage efficiency and automotive design. Universities which will participate include University of Michigan-Dearborn, Michigan State University, Wayne State University, Lawrence Technological University and College for Creative Studies. 

This year the NAIAS will be held for the 27th time as an international event. The NAIAS is among the most renowned auto shows in the world. It is administered by Executive Director Alberts. The NAIAS is one of the largest media events in North America. More than 200 exhibitors will be present at the NAIAS 2015 with their new designs and models.
