According to a /4/14 press release on the Big 12 Conference’s official website, the Sooners bagged the awards for Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, and Coach of the Year:

“As the 2015 Big 12 softball regular season comes to a close, the league office has announced the winners of this year’s postseason honors. Oklahoma takes home three yearly awards as Shelby Pendley was named the Player of the Year and Paige Parker claimed Pitcher of the Year along with co-Freshman of the Year honors alongside Daniella Chavez of Kansas.

“Oklahoma’s Patty Gasso was named Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive season.

“Pendley became the third Oklahoma player in four seasons to earn Big 12 Player of the Year honors. The OU Sooner started in all 48 games in which she appeared and recorded 61 hits in 140 plate appearances. Pendley is also tied for fifth in the nation with 24 home runs this season while being tied for the lowest number of games played in the top-five of the home run leaderboard.

“Parker, the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and co-Freshman of the Year, becomes only the third player in NCAA history to throw four perfect games in a season. The Independence, Missouri native made 36 starts this season and struck out 199 batters. She also led the Big 12 with a 1.45 ERA and held batters to a league-low .170 batting average.

“Co-Freshman of the Year Chavez was a crucial part of the (Kansas) Jayhawks’ season. The Crowley, Texas native blasted 15 home runs and 65 RBI in her 150 plate appearances. She also recorded a .353 batting average.

“In her 21st year leading the Sooner program, Gasso received her fourth consecutive Coach of the Year honor. Her eight accolades overall are the most by any league coach. She led the Sooners to their 12th overall Big 12 crown this season and fourth straight regular-season title.

“Oklahoma begins play in this weekend’s NCAA Regional as the No. 11 overall seed in the tournament.”

The Sooners also saw 12 of their players being named to all-conference teams on Thursday, the most of any university. The Baylor Bears placed second with nine players while the Kansas Jayhawks wound up third with seven, per Big12Sports.com.
