Like the rest, HTC also wants to pack its top-of-the-range devices with powerful camera tech

With so much competition in the mobile phone market, all manufacturers want to pack their high end handsets with the top quality features and similarly HTC also wants to pack its top-of-the-range devices with powerful camera tech and it is simply no more about adding up on the megapixels.

Talking of the latest HTC One (M8), the phone features a pair of cameras on its rear which gives users the full control to manipulate depth-of-field, among other special features. The UK carrier Vodafone gives some insight into HTC’s roadmap for camera tech imaging guru Symon Whitehorn claimed “we could be 4K ready now,” if it actually made sense to do so.

Whitehorn also indicated towards the other upcoming phones and has commented that the traditional point-and-shoot cameras will soon go obsolete. This means that it wont be too long before performance will move up to the DSLR territory (probably within two years). However for this to happen, the phones will need to incorporate optical zooming and as said by Whitehorn this is not going to take long for the HTC.
