The upgrade will also be useful for small cameras and smartphones

Finding fast storage for your bigger cameras is not an issue at all. However, confusion arises when you need storage for those tiny mirrorless cams which make use of the microSD cards and since there arent many options available for this platform, the only way out is to get stuck with the slow lanes forever. But the good news is that you no longer have to worry about sticking in the slow lane for too long because Toshiba is bringing you the first-ever microSD cards to meet the speedy UHS-II spec.

These will be featuring the same level of performance as one of the quickest full-size SD storage and quite surprisingly, they will feature up to eight times the write speed of Toshiba’s earlier microSD lineup and its ability to read data will be three times faster. This is quite a useful upgrade since it will also prove to be useful for smaller cameras and smartphones and will help them shoot burst photos as quickly as some pro hardware, and 4K video recording will be relatively pain-free.

So far at this stage, Toshiba is only providing samples of 32GB and 64GB cards to chip and gadget makers and before getting your hands on one, you will have to see whether whatever device you own supports the UHS-II or not.
