The pre-show comments for the show were enthusiastic and expectant. After the success of Sound of Music last year, NBC fans were expecting great performances this year as well. Christopher Walken playing Captain Hook definitely created excitement among the audience and that yielded some pretty freat tweets.
The show started and people witnessed the much awaited musical for the next two hours.
The first act went ok, Allison Williams performing Peter Pan was definitely a confusing scenario for some including Mario Lopez it seems but the rest of it seemed ok when the children learned to fly went to Wonderland.
Then Hook entered and the audience was hooked for a minute and a half.
Ever heard about an actor overshadowing his role?
Christopher Walken seemed to have done just that. The viewers’ were more or less generally disappointed with Walken’s performance which seemed to have brought the whole play down.
As it progressed the play went from bad to worse and people’s tweets turned on the show they were raving for to the show they ultimately deemed a disaster. See some responses below.
