CFDA names Pharrell Williams as the 2015 Fashion Icon

CFDA selects Pharrell Williams as this year’s Fashion Icon for his viral style and fashion statement recognized all over the world.

Every year the Council of Fashion Designers of America names a Fashion Icon that represents an icon who has set trends not only in the fashion world but has also influenced and touch the lives of the people with their own style.

This year Diane von Furstenberg, president of the CFDA, elaborated that Pharrell was such a person who has not only been an amazing achiever in music being a great singer, songwriter, music and record producer and mentor, he has a great and unique personality. His kindness and openness of heart is contagious according to von Furstenberg. No one can help but be seduced by his charm and style.

That is why Pharrell has qualified to become the Fashion Icon by CFDA this year. Pharrell’s signatory hats, distinct outfits and boots and shoes have inspired lines of clothing and numerous wardrobes around the world. He is a statement of unique style and personality and represents himself as he is on the biggest platforms including the Oscars stage last year where he performed his Oscar nominated track “Happy”.

Pharrell hasn’t just been named for his own unique style. The great musician is also a designer. He co-founded the clothing brand Billionaire Boys Club and the show brand Ice Cream Footwear. He also has a New York City boutique and has co-designed eyewear and jewelry for Louis Vuitton.

The news has been announced on the CFDA Instagram and Twitter pages. The awards will be held at the Lincoln Center on June 1 of this year. Fans around the world had happily supported the decision saying that there might not be a more deserving person to name the Fashion Icon.
