Prince will honor Freddie Gray by performing at the ‘Rally 4 Peace’ in Baltimore.

The legendary singer Prince just surprised everyone when he announced his plan to perform at the Rally 4 Peace. Although Prince has claimed he does not vote and refused to perform at the ‘We are the World’ concert he will perform in Baltimore to honor Freddie Gray.

Other than performing Prince will even debut a new single called ‘Baltimore’ written in the aftermath of Freddie Gray’s death and will pay tribute to all the people of Baltimore.

According to the press statement by LiveNation the event is supposed to be an opportunity for pause and reflection following the violence which previously gripped Baltimore and other areas of the US. All the attendees have been invited to wear grey as a tribute to those lost in the violence and as a symbol of our humanity and love.

The lyrics of ‘Baltimore’ were recently made public along with the message of reconciliation by Prince in which he called Peace as more than the mere absence of war.  Prince has always been vocal about the confrontations between the Police and the African American and previously stated music still matters just like books at the Grammy Awards 2015.

Prince is not known as a political activist and has refused to join any cause. In 2009 he even told Tavis Smiley he doesn’t care for politics and hasn’t even registered to vote. Even though his political views are not clear we do know he is a devoted Christian as he turned to Christianity in 2001 and called it a realization rather than a conversion.

Prince has even filled some of his songs with classical Christian messages. Although the singer has a complicated moral compass he believes there is a separation of state and morality here.
