This was what the Atlanta Falcons wide receiver told Jay Adams of the team’s official website on Sept. 25:

“Wide receiver Roddy White has had plenty of time to recover from a hamstring injury that kept him out of last Thursday’s 56-14 win over (the) Tampa Bay Buccaneers and he said today that he’s ‘ready to roll’ for Sunday’s game against (the) Minnesota Vikings.

“White, who was listed as limited on Wednesday’s injury report, said the short week after injuring himself inhibited his ability to be game-ready for the Tampa game.

“‘Yeah, yeah, I feel good,’ said White when asked if he feels good to play this weekend. ‘If I didn’t, then I wouldn’t be talking to y’all right now. But yeah, I feel good. It was kind of frustrating going out there and watching (vs. Tampa). Every time I watch a football game from the sideline, I’m kind of frustrated not being out there with my teammates, but I’m ready to roll.’

“Update (3:30 p.m. ET): White was listed as limited in Thursday’s practice and head coach Mike Smith said he expects White will get more work in Friday’s final practice of the week.

“Prince Shembo was upgraded to full participation Thursday while Harry Douglas, Devin Hester and Antone Smith were also full.”

White and fellow Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones said the team has to do a better job on the road. Atlanta has not won an outdoor game since Nov. 2012. It won only one road game during the 2013 NFL season, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Michael Cunningham:

“For the next two months the Falcons will play just one game at the Georgia Dome and all of their games away from home will be outdoors. These could be challenging circumstances for a team with a recent history of losing in the elements.

“The Falcons haven’t won a game outdoors since triumphing at Tampa Bay on Nov. 25, 2012. Their only road victory in 2013 came against the Bills in Toronto with the roof closed at the Rogers Centre.

“The Falcons lost 24-10 at the Bengals on Sept. 18 in their only road game this season. The Falcons will play one game at the Georgia Dome from now until Nov. 23.

“‘We’ve got to be road warriors,’ Falcons wide receiver Roddy White said. ‘We’ve got to go out there on the road and win games. That’s what it’s about in this league. We are going to be away from home for a minute. We’ve got to win games on the road. We’ve got to go over .500.’

“The Falcons are at the Vikings and Giants for the next two weeks before playing the (Detroit) Lions in London on Oct. 26 (Wembley Stadium has a partially-closed, retractable roof). A bye week is followed by games at the Buccaneers and Carolina before the Falcons finally ply a home game against the (Cleveland) Browns on Nov. 23.

“‘We’ve got to be consistent; it doesn’t matter where we are playing at,’ Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones said. ‘We can’t let the external factors like the fans prevent us from going out there and playing Falcons football. We’ve just got to go out there and take care of business. The hard work we put out there in practice, we’ve got to take it (on the road) and do the same thing.'”
