The Tab Active is a ruggedized tablet for businesses

When it comes to the consumer world, the water resistant and rugged mobile devices are pretty common but they haven’t made their mark yet in the enterprise market. However, this isn’t going to remain like this forever since Samsung is going to permeate the enterprise market with its new Galaxy Tab Active which has been designed particularly for businesses environments. The tablet comes with IP67 certification for water resistance and an anti-shock covering that can withstand a 1.2-meter drop.

This tablet is perfect for workplaces and for those who are working in enterprises and all features have been designed accordingly. For instance, the inbuilt NFC connectivity is going to serve as a great tool for transportation and logistics managers, and the ruggedness of the phone also makes it ideal for retail auto sales representatives.

Some features of this new Galaxy Tab Active resemble the older ones seen on Galaxy Note tablets. Just like them, the Active also comes with a stylus that Samsung is calling the C-Pen. This has been presented as being more comfortable for a touch screen particularly for those who are wearing gloves in their workplaces. A stylus can be used as a perfect alternative to standard touch input. Moving on to the specs of the device, the Tab Active equips an 8-inch unit of WXGA (1280×800) pixels resolution and runs on Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor. It packs inside 1.5GB RAM, a 3.1-megapixel rear camera, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, a 4,450 mAh battery touted for 8-10 hours of general usage, and Android 4.4 KitKat.
