Sara Kapfer and Cuba Gooding Jr. had been together for such a long time that it was supposed that they would end their marriage by literally dying together in an old people’s home in each other’s arms. But such are the storms and stresses of Hollywood that their marriage has literally gone down the drains after 20 odd years.

According to TMZ, “Cuba Gooding Jr.’s wife just filed for separation from the Oscar-winning actor after 20 years of marriage. Sara Kapfer filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. Sara wants joint legal and physical custody. According to the docs, child support will be determined later.”
Cuba Gooding Jr. tied the knot with Sara Kapfer when the two were just teenage sweethearts. That was 1994. Today exactly 20 years after that day of bliss and happiness, Sara has filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences. One thinks to oneself, what the hell went wrong?
Well, for one thing Cuba Gooding had been praising his wife a couple of months back in a talk show. However, he did admit this much that it was hard to make time for family when you are so busy making movies. The Jerry Maguire star said that as a rule he and his wife try to see each other once every three to four weeks.
He also waxed eloquent over his wife’s capabilities as a homemaker and mother. Cuba Gooding Jr. had this much to say that he had left the household to his wife Sara since she was the perfect wife and maternal figure to their three children.
How had this man, who had been so in love with his wife and kids, managed to mess up his marriage? It is a mystery for now since Cuba Gooding Jr. has not responded to the divorce rumors. What sort of row he got himself into with his wife, who just couldn’t take the pressure and filed for divorce, is a riddle alright. Cuba Gooding Jr. was clearly madly in love with his wife. Then how could he throw it all away so nonchalantly? Who knows!?
