The makeup artist who especially caters to Sarah Jessica Parker, Leslie Lopez, was recently caught shoplifting and taken into police custody.
Leslie Lopez, who happens to be Sarah Jessica Parker’s makeup artist, was caught red-handed when she tried to get away with stealing designer handbags. She is currently in the firm grip of the law and faces charges of theft in court.
She had been apprehended while she tried to pilfer designer clutches from Saks Fifth Avenue in Florida. It was her third such attempt. Lopez is accused of simply strolling out nonchalantly from the store with a Fendi bag worth almost three grand.
Another time she repeated the act, this time with a Louis Vuitton handbag worth the same amount as her previous conquest. Finally, the last straw came when she made off with a bag worth almost four grand.
According to the authorities, she confessed her crime before the police and even said that she would pay back the money that the stolen goods were worth. Lopez had actually been facing a hard time since her mom’s death.
She was under a lot of stress and thus committed the crime under duress. She cannot be held responsible for an act done out of the sheer pain and frustration of facing her mother die.
Lopez appeared with Parker on the cover of a magazine in the recent past. Carrie Underwood and Andy Cohen also get their makeup done from her. She has even been under the liability of purloining a pair of shades from a shop two years ago.
It seems kleptomania is a serious recurring problem with Leslie Lopez. The video footage of her stealing the handbags from Saks shows that she had no compunction at the moment she was doing the criminal act.
She was very confident and showed little if any sign of stress or anxiety. Leslie has a big problem and it would be best if she corrected her erroneous zones via a visit to an excellent psychologist.
Kleptomania, or the stealing of things unnecessarily and without any economic motive, is a deep-seated issue and is not resolved easily. She will need costly sessions with the shrink to root out the complexes hidden in the subconscious that are triggering her bad habit.
