Selfie Sticks banned once again

Selfie Sticks banned once again

After museums, the rods get banned on music festivals of Coachella and Lollapalooza

First it were the museums and now the seemingly harmless selfie sticks are also banned from public events such as music festivals – the one place where we would really be needing our selfie partner. Unfortunately, the selfie stick which allows you to take your own pictures from a distance is not going to be allowed in the music festivals this year. This decision comes only days after some major museums in Paris also banned the use of these sticks for safety purposes.

We are all looking forward to April’s Coachella and Lollapalooza in July but unfortunately we would have to do without the selfie stick because the name of it has clearly been mentioned on the list of the prohibited items.

For Lollapalooza the rules clearly state that participants and visitors will be allowed no “GoPro attachments like sticks, selfie sticks & monopods.” Similarly Coachella has also banned “Selfie sticks / narsisstics”.

NME has also noted how these sticks are being take off the scene on other major music outlets too in addition to the already existing list of major museums and Premier League football stadiums. The ban in the museums was put in place to avoid any damages to the priceless paintings and other antiques which could possibly come in the way as you wave your sefie sticks around. This however doesn’t really apply to open air music festivals but the ban is surely going to let you enjoy the public event even more.
