American Idol is coming to an end and its former judge Simon Cowell shares his thoughts about the end of American Idol.

American idol has been cancelled by its network Fox after 15 seasons. The coming season will be the last season of the immensely popular reality music show American idol. Even former judge Simon Cowell is saying goodbye who left the show as a judge in 2010.

Cowell shared with E! News that in the first season how the judges (him, Paula and Randy) had a blast along with the host Ryan and not to forget Brian Dunkleman. Cowell thanked the fans for having given them an opportunity for finding amazing artists and called it all as great times.

The news of the cancellation was announced on Monday by the Chairmen and CEOs of Fox Gary Newman and Dana Walden. Newman and Walden shared how it was not an easy decision for them but while discussing the future of the show they came to the conclusion it was the right time to end it. Even though the show will be ending it will go in the right way and have a celebratory feel which treats it the right way.

Walden even revealed the final season will feature appearances from the former judges and contestants. The next season will be a season long celebration and will feature many surprises for the fans as the show still has a big viewership and was the number one show on the network for its first eight consecutive years.

The next season American Idol XV will feature the same panel of judges as last season including Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. along with Ryan Seacrest who has been the show host since the first season.

American Idol was once the show with the most ratings on Fox and at its peak in 2006 it gained 36 million viewers for the season finale, however this year it only had a 11.6 million rating.
