There are two new smartphones, a new fitness and life logging wearable, and a new smartwatch
Quite similar to Apple’s plan for this year, Sony also had a lot on its plate and there was a bunch of new products to be announced at this year’s IFA event in Berlin. Well, today at the event Sony announced two new smartphones, a new fitness and life logging wearable, and a new smartwatch which runs on the Android Wear instead of Sony’s homegrown OS. Let us have a look at each one of these announcements individually.

Sony Z3
The phone has come as a predecessor to the Xperia Z2 which was revealed at the start of this year but it has been made clear that the Z2 simply hasn’t become history as yet because the Z3 is more like an iterative evolution of the previous flagship. The phone features a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, and a 20.7-inch display plus waterproofing but when it comes to the outer shell, the phone has a different framing with more rounded corners and an absolutely new camera a high-ISO 12800 sensor and a 25mm wide angle lens. The phone is powered with Snapdragon 801 processor which is clocked at 2.5GHz.
Z3 Compact
As the name suggests, this is just the smaller variant of the original Z3 and has quite a lot of the features of its elder sibling on board. But because of its compact nature, the phone sports a shortened 4.6-inch display, with 720p resolution. The price is likewise going to be decreased too but unfortunately we cant comment on that area since Sony hasn’t revealed anything about it as yet.
SmartBand Talk
This obviously has come as a follow up to the SmartBand and offers the feature of lifelogging, which combines activity tracking with other contextual clues and device use to show you not just how you’ve been exercising but that isn’t all there is to it. You will simply have to experience it to believe what lies under the covers and we can assure you that it is much more. With this model comes a speaker and mic so that you can use it to field calls from your phone and the 1.4-inch always-on e-ink display for power conservation and visibility in any lighting is also very impressive. Upon launch you will be able to purchase this in two colors of white and black and both will come with IP68 waterproofing.
SmartWatch 3
This smartwatch is going to be Sony’s first attempt at the world of Android Wear and has all the impressive featured packed inside. It features 320×320 1.6-inch display, with IP68 waterproofing, and microUSB charging. It has 4GB of local storage, its own GPS sensor in addition to an accelerometer, compass and gyroscope. And on top of all this, users will get the added benefit of the lifelogging feature which was provided with the SmartBand Talk.
