Sony Xperia Z3+ Debuts Globally

The Sony Xperia Z3+ is the international version of the Xperia Z4. Sony announced the phone today.

You are looking at Sony’s new flagship smartphone. The Xperia Z3+ is Sony’s best smartphone yet, donning an insanely thin and stylish design and amped with an array of high-quality features that you would expect from the Japanese consumer electronics company.

If the Xperia Z3+ looks familiar to you, that’s because it’s the international version of the Xperia Z4, which Sony announced in Japan in April this year. But we knew that Sony will eventually launch the phone globally. The Xperia Z3+ retains the 5.2-inch display and 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera of its predecessor. But it ups the ante by sporting an impressive 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.

The Xperia Z3+ is 6.9mm thin and weighs 144 grams. It comes in four colors: classic black, classic white, copper, and aqua green. In addition to Sony’s reputable camera technologies—Exmor RS image sensor and BIONZ processor, the phone also has a Superior Auto feature, which automatically optimizes the settings to capture the best pictures. It also has a Gourmet Mode for food photography and other advanced features.

Under the hood, the Xperia Z3+ is powered by a Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64 bit processor and 3GB of RAM. Although the phone has a 2,900mAh battery—slightly smaller than the Z3’s 3,100mAh battery, Sony says that the Z3+ can last up to two days on a single charge. And to make that possible, there’s an extended standby mode. Lastly, expect the device to be waterproof and robust.

Sony did not reveal the price of the Xperia Z3+, but it said that it will launch the phone globally starting June. The Sony Xperia Z3+ will have two variants: single SIM and dual-SIM. Meanwhile, check out the official photos in our gallery or check out the video after the break.
