Samsung’s first non Android device to sport the stitched leather finish

It was only till yesterday that the Chromebook 2 by Samsung got leaked and was making the rounds on the internet and now it has been announced officially. The Chromebook 2 which will be powered by Exynos 5 Octa processor will apparently allow its customers to choose between an 11.6” or a 13.3” display and it will be available by next month.

As we already from the leaks in the past few days, the new Chromebook features the same faux leather stitched finish at the back which Samsung has undertaken for its latest Android smartphones and tablets. In fact the Chromebook is the first of Samsung’s non Android devices which is going to receive this design platform. The version with an 11.6 inch display, which features a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and has 1.9GHz in CPU cores is going to be available in colors of Jet Black or Classic white whereas the 13.3 inch model is going to come in a Luminous Titan Gray. This 13.3 inch model will sport a Full HD display with a resolution of Full HD display and will have 2.1GHz CPUs.

Both models are said to ship with built in memory of 16 GB which is expandable through the microSD card slot and will have 4 GB in Ram. Some other prominent features will include the 720p web camera, HDMI port, and USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port. The 11.6 inch version will be priced at $319.99 and the 13.3 inch will cost $399.99.
