Talk about an ill-fated name. The Torch Tower skyscraper in Dubai has caught fire.
A large fire broke out in the Torch Tower skyscraper in Dubai on Friday 5pm Eastern. The video reports show a huge flames that cover the building middle area. The name of the iconic building in Dubai is amazingly ill-fated. Despite the dramatic pictures nobody has been hurt.
The Dubai official said that the fire was out after three hours. Again considering the video footage on CNN, this is amazing. How was the Dubai fire department able to put out this large fire out so quickly?

The Torch Tower is a residential building. That nobody got hurt is stunning. An office building would be empty during the night, but a residential building is not. It appears the emergency procedures worked really well.
At 336 meters the Torch Tower was the tallest residential skyscrapers back in 2011 when it was finished. The building has 86 floors.
It is morning now in Dubai and the clean-up of the fire has started. Debris has been fallen off the Torch Tower to the streets.
