TRW Automotive will display its latest Automated Systems at CES 2015

AT CES 2015, TRW will give you the experience of how automated driving starts with safety as demonstrated by TRW (pedestrian detection, traffic jam assist, highway pilot, etc.).

TRW Automotive will bring its new automotive innovations at the CES 2015 in Las Vegas.

TRW Automotive is famous for providing driver assist and partially-automated functions. The company has also been busy in developing the automated systems of tomorrow. S-Cam 3 Camera

Now talking about the company’s products, TRW’s S-Cam 3 camera supports Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) which is helpful for highway speeds as a standalone sensor. Moreover its innovative object classification capabilities, the mono camera enable a number of enhanced functions not seen before.

TriCam4 Camera

TRW has also come up with a new state of the art camera system the ‘S-Cam4 family’. This camera includes a premium three lens camera, TriCam4 which is basically an expanded object detection range and field of view over prior camera generations. The TriCam4 has a telephoto lens as well which is useful for improving long distance sensing and the TriCam4 also has a fish eye lens which is very helpful in improving short range sensing. This fish eye lens is a wonder for semi-automated driving functions such as Highway Driving Assist and Traffic Jam Assist.

AC1000 Radar

Then there is the exciting new and innovative, TRW’s next generation radar family, AC1000. This new system can enable 360-degree sensing capabilities and even the option of dual mode functionality that will cover both low speed and high speed applications in one unit.so this new system by TRW is perfect for front, rear and side sensing applications. The AC1000 can be also be used for a number of different safety functions which include forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking and emergency steering assist.

Safety Domain ECU (SDE)

Then there is the TRW Safety Domain ECU (SDE). This uses an open AUTOSAR architecture and uses a number of chassis, suspension and Drive Assist Systems (DAS) control functions. The company has made it clear that the second generation SDE will offer much better performance when compared to the previous generation and will definitely be a focal technology in supporting semi-automated driving and even car-2-car communication. Now what else is needed!

Traffic Jam Assist

We have been talking about the TRW’s traffic jam assist and now we will explain what it is and why it is useful. The traffic jam assist function enables a car to follow the vehicle in front while keeping in its lane and has a specific speed limit which it does not exceed.

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)

Plus the TRW’s Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) combines advanced Driver Assist Systems (DAS) and even Electronic Stability Control (ESC) in order to slow a vehicle that is travelling at high speed and /4/potentially increase the severity of an impact when an accident is unavoidable.

Data Fusion

Also the Data fusion brings together the strengths of both TRW’s radar and video camera sensors to make high level, reliable safety decision.

Emergency Steering Assist

TRW’s Emergency Steering Assist function helps the driver in an emergency situation where the driver initiates an evasive steering maneuver. TRW has taken care of all aspects when talking about driving and that is why this automatic driving system is so outstanding.
