The rock star, Mick Jagger had only derogatory comments about the men of Monty Python.

Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones made a wisecrack about the members of Monty Python who are currently enjoying a reunion concert. He said that they were wrinkly old men who were trying to relive the good old days of their youth and only getting back together in order to make some extra cash in the process.

He was watching the FIFA matches being held in Brazil on television along with his band mate Charlie Watts when a news reporter questioned him regarding Monty Python. Jagger said in an offhand manner that nobody wanted to see that stuff anymore since it was just a load of 60s skits. He also called Monty Python stars “a bunch of wrinkly old men trying to relive their youth and make a load of money.”

Then he mentioned how the best member of Monty Python was already six feet under. Although Mick admitted that they were a hilarious bunch he tried to show the reporter the fact that he had been there and done that. In other words, it was old hat by now.

Mick Jagger went on to say that they had even posted videos of their shows on YouTube so it wasn’t like they were a new phenomenon. “The best one died years ago. Maybe back in the 70s it was fantastic — it was the funniest thing. We’ve seen it all before. I mean they’ve put it all up on YouTube,” said Mick Jagger. Watch video of Mick Jagger’s comments below.

When some of the Monty Python members were questioned, they corroborated the fact by saying that it was all about the old stuff and they didn’t have it in them to introduce new things at the late stage they were in their lives.

Monty Python’s Flying Circus was the funniest act there ever was. When it aired on television for the first time, it won hearts and minds by its absolutely belly laugh-inducing repertoire of skits and acts.

Such numbers as The Life of Brian and a scene where they all throw chickens off a fortress at their enemies made smiles and paroxysms of guffaws appear on the audience’s faces.

Yet today they are a spent force. But it was good while it lasted. And they did manage to entertain millions with their hilarious live sketches. What more could one ask of a bunch of human beings with creativity in their genes?
