Steven Emerson Muslim Birmingham Comments on #FoxNewsFacts Interview taken back with Apology

Steven Emerson took back his comments on Muslim Birmingham with an apology on Fox News.

Steven Emerson spoke of how he had clearly made a very big error. He said that he was deeply sorry for the speech act he was guilty of. He said that his comments about Muslim Birmingham on Fox News were totally wrong.

He said that he would like to say how sorry he was for slandering the reputation of the beautiful city of Birmingham. He said that he was entirely responsible for what had transpired and he should have been more sacrosanct and prudent in the course of action he decided to take.

There was no justification for what he said and there was no way to take back the words that got said in the past. He said that in fact, he ought to say sorry to each and every resident of Birmingham.

In an interview on Fox News, Steven Emerson had said that many times Shariah Courts were set up in the manner of a country within a country. He furthermore pointed out that the Muslim density in Birmingham was so great that it was a no-go zone since the whole city was virtually Muslim and there very few (if any) non-Muslims in it.

He furthermore said that there were pockets in London where there was religious police that beat the devil out of anyone who didn’t dress in an appropriate manner. He even spoke of how Turkey which was a moderate Muslim state supported Hamas.

Muslims were increasing in Europe and although not all Muslims were terrorists, the general mindset was one of radical Islam that was fast catching on among the youth and their elders. It was a situation where many states wanted their no-go zones back but now it was too late to reclaim them from their Muslim majorities.

Finally, Emerson mentioned the female terrorists that had started resurfacing in many terrorist circles. The sleeper cells were proliferating and there was ever greater danger to European and Western states from them.

But the fact of the matter is that Birmingham is not a no-go zone. It has many non-Muslims living in it besides the obvious majority of Muslims. Despite being an expert on all matters related to terrorism and terrorists, Emerson seemed to be highly misinformed regarding the very basic facts.

Now that he has atoned for his mistake and apologized, he is also donating a considerable sum of money directly from his pocket for a children’s hospital in Birmingham. The man is definitely contrite over what just transpired.

He should have known better and not put his foot in his mouth as regards the feelings of millions of Muslims. They are a minority in Europe and the West and their fears about being treated like second class citizens /4/prove not exactly unfounded when people like Emerson start their blah-blah before the media.

“I have clearly made a terrible error for which I am deeply sorry. My comments about Birmingham were totally in error. And I am issuing this apology and correction for having made this comment about the beautiful city of Birmingham,” Steve Emerson wrote in his apology statement on his organization Investigative Project’s website.

“I do not intend to justify or mitigate my mistake by stating that I had relied on other sources because I should have been much more careful. There was no excuse for making this mistake and I owe an apology to every resident of Birmingham. I am not going to make any excuses. I made an inexcusable error. And I am obligated to openly acknowledge that mistake. I wish to apologize for all residents of that great city of Birmingham.”

As for the media, it too should act more responsibly and not allow any two bit political pundit from mouthing off about a minority. People in the West are very sensitive when it comes to the Holocaust but when Muslim interests and sensitivities are mentioned there is a general image that has taken root.

Everyone thinks he or she can say whatever he or she likes regarding the followers of this monotheistic faith. Just like all Christians cannot be held accountable for the deeds of Adolph Hitler and the Nazis so not all Muslims are responsible for what was essentially an act  of terror carried out by Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda on 9/11.

It would be foolish to label an entire genre of people for the irresponsible acts of a few nuts. Emerson’s apology comes at the right time and it shows that there are good people among all faiths and that to err is human while to forgive is divine.
