Tom Jones Performs and Twitter Thinks He Died

Last week Twitter flipped out because Michael J. Fox was trending for no reason. Many users thought he died. Last weekend Tom Jones was trending and again worried Twitter users freaked out thinking he died. 74-year-old Tom Jones was trending because he performed at a big sports event in Australia.

Tom Jones performed together with Ed Sheeran during the 2014 AFL Grand Final match between the Sydney Swans and the Hawthorn Hawks at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Tom Jones caused some critizism for his song choice. He performed Delilah which is about domestic violence – a hot button issue right now in the NFL.

News.com.au reports that. TV presenter and Football Club President Eddie McGuire said for instance: “Obviously at the moment domestic violence is a massive issue in world sport. In the National Football League in America they are getting absolutely smashed because of their tin-eared approach to domestic violence .Tom has got a songbook bigger than the yellow pages … Don’t walk into the fire.”

Tom Jones is not dead. He is alive and kicking hard. Twitter also worried about Tom Jones fans will not be able to through their underwear onto the stage as it was too far away from the seats. Now, that is actually funny and not paranoid.
